THERE'S A LOT TO LIKE ABOUT LULU !

Filled with comical illustrations that bring smiles and a story that teaches a valuable lesson there's a lot to like about LULU THE BIG LITTLE CHICK. Author/illustrator Bogan fills pages with bold whimsical illustrations that capture and hold young eyes, such as smiling hens happy in their hen house reading a book and knitting. More farm animals include docile, furry sheep in need of shearing, pudgy pink pigs, and an outsize cow.

Very much like other youngsters Lulu doesn't like being the littlest chick on the farm. She doesn't like being told all the thing she cannot do because she's so small - she cannot lay eggs, she cannot climb the big fence, she cannot play in the cornfield. All of that was difficult for her to take. However when Momma said, "Lulu, you are too little to go very far from me...," Lulu decided that wasn't true and she was going "far, far away."

Little did she know where "far, far away" was or what she might find there. Youngsters will be surprised by her adventures and undoubtedly realize along with Lulu that home is the best place to be.

Highly recommended to remind young ones that they will grow in time and go to other places but meanwhile it's best to stay safe at home.

Lulu (and Momma) are back - yay!

Our family is so glad Lulu and Momma are back. What a great story about exploring the world around you (but not too far of course). And as usual, the illustrations are amazing and hilarious. My daughter and I like to find the goofy things in the background too. We want more Lulu!

Lu Lu the Little Chick Runs Away to FInd Herself

When Lu Lu ventures off the farm it is Momma who is only a wing away.
Kids love the heart warming story and enjoy seeing their familiar Paulette Bogan pig friends peeking around every corner of the farm. Lu Lu learns that when she runs away next time, it's best to take Momma with her! The illustrations are bold and beautiful, you'll want to frame every page for your child's reading corner!

    I love this book

Lulu the big little Chick is a really fun story to read. Mama and Lulu were just as cute as they were in Goodnight Lulu. The drawings were bright and made you laugh or feel bad for Lulu. I especially liked the pages with the pigs. This book is great for all kids because its easy to understand and the illustrations follow the story very well.

    Lulu is Back!

My boys love Lulu! They were very excited to see what Lulu would get herself into this time. Both my children can identify with the story and often feel just like her. Along with the colorful illustrations, one of our favorite parts about the Lulu books are... Momma where's that mouse?

Perfect Addition to Your Child's Classroom Library

"Lulu the Big Little Chick" reminds me of my own childhood! The author humorously tells the tale of a little chick's early attempt at independence. Lulu, her momma, and the whole cast of characters are familiar and lovable. Colorful, funny, and always surprising illustrations, engage young readers. I have been recommending Paulette Bogan's books to early childhood teachers for years. She is among the few author/illustrators who provide inspiration for both beginning writers and aspiring artists. "Lulu the Big Little Chick" and "Goodnight Lulu" are the perfect additions to your child's library and your child's pre-k through second grade classroom libraries. Could "Lulu the big Little Chick" be the second installment in a wonderful new series? Let's hope so!

This author/illustrator also does school visits. She is just as colorful and humorous as the books she writes! Check out her website for more info paulettebogan.com.

Lulu the Big little Chick was an adorable Childrens book

This book was an adorable Childrens book. The vibrant colors and amazing drawings really made the story interesting, along with the great story line. It makes the life lesson very humorous, and most children can relate to it. I know for a fact, I can.

Lulu is lovable and charming. My kids and I loved it. We laughed and couldn't wait to figure out how Momma was gonna help her this time. We had fun watching the little pigs and Lulu's faces as she reached each hurdle. We're hooked.

When reading Lulu books, you immediately recognize the childhood moments our own children have had; and maybe we ourselves have had. Though, I will warn you, as parents, you do hope you are or have been as patient and thoughtful as Lulu's mother.
In this adventure, Lulu wants to be "big" yet finds out what she really wants is her mom around. O.K., it hits home with all of us. Like in the first adventure Mom is a hero and she makes each of us feel safe. Moms, after the book is read, be ready for a cozy, cuddling bedtime. You're gonna love it! Lots of Lulu books will be under our families' Christmas trees.
