    The Grand Wazoo

    Zappa's spoken-word album

    There is music throughout but this is a spoken-word album (mainly band member conversations about whatever crossed their minds) and not a collection of songs. People tend to either love it or hate it. I'm one who loves it. Zappa continued this experiment with one of his last albums: "Civilization Phaze 3" (Lumpy Gravy being phase 1 and The Grand Wazoo being phase 2 - presumably). This one is weird even by Zappa standards, but its an interesting element of the Zappa genius.
