Predictable Stuff.
Having just seen the band 3 times in a week (OK City, Dallas, Houston)play exactly the same set note for note it is pretty obvious that there is zero creativity here. Just the same old songs replayed in the same way as they have been for the last 30 years. LS should have a listen to the Allman Brothers Band (on the same bill as headliners). Their show was different every night.

Hmmm...It's good...but there's Somethyng Myssyng!?..
If you're in the mood for some live, modern day Lynyrd Skynyrd, then this CD should do the trick. However, it seems to expand just a tad bit on the 1998 release of "Lyve from Steeltown". In other words, both albums are slightly interchangable. I like "The Vicious Cycle Tour" CD a tad better...as it makes you feel the band is playing live...right there..in your own living room! But had the producers only added two more classic songs: "You Got That Right?" and "Call Me The Breeze", then this album would be solid gold (i.e Five Stars instead of Four). Perhaps even in the realm of Led Zeppelin's 2003 3-CD release: "How The West Was Won" (recorded live back in 1972). When bands start leaving out obvious great songs, then the album tends to suffer. In other words, there's probably thousands of Lynyrd Skynyrd fans out there that would truly love to hear the live versions of the two songs I named above...but sadly, they won't find them on this album.

To Be Proven Again
If "One For/From The Road" or "Lyve From Steeltown" wasnt enough for some reason to prove Skynyrd wasnt the best live band ever for sure, this album will guarantee it. Not only does Skynyrd hit every song on the nail, but they add their blend of new material without missing a step, insuring their legacy of greatness forever. Not like Skynyrd needed to put this album to prove anything already, for they have proven to be the best Southern Rock and I think band of all time. But this just adds more punch with more great music. 5!!!!
