The book Made in Heaven surprised me. The book is published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group. Master Books specializes in Christian apologetics books for people of all ages. When I received my copy of the book, its format suggested that it might be a book aimed at young children…it is not. I found myself fascinated with the subject matter and I actually learned a lot about many different fields of scientific research.
Made in Heaven was written by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto. Ray Comfort is a well-know apologist/evangelist who has written many books, developed a successful witnessing training program (The Way of the Master), and co-hosts a Christian evangelism television show with actor Kirk Cameron. Jeffrey Seto is an aerospace engineer with an engineering degree in aerospace, an electrical engineering diploma in avionics, and he is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
The book shows how many scientific advancements and inventions were made by first studying God’s creation and learning from it. Then scientists reverse engineered, to the best of their ability, something that was modeled from nature. The book showed many different examples of God’s incredibly brilliant designs. How could anyone continue to believe that these designs came about by chance?
On a purely visual level, the photographs were amazing. Close-up shots of wasps, the human eyeball, Velcro, and other sites humans very rarely get to see are abundant within the pages of this book. There are some truly amazing photos.
The majority of Made in Heaven reveals to us God’s amazing handiwork seen in plants, animals, insects, fish, birds, snowflakes, and more. The book gives us examples of how man attempts to use God’s ideas, in a limited capacity, to better humanity’s existence. As is to be expected, and commended, the book ends with a clear presentation of the Gospel message.
This book is interesting, informative, and evangelical in its content and I would recommend it for all ages.

When I first started reading and reviewing this book, the interest level ran pretty high in our own household, and for the last couple of days, our kids have been eagerly waiting for me to finish reviewing the book so they can begin reading it! I read quite a bit, and I enjoy a lot of books, but every once in awhile you hit upon a book that gets rated higher than 5 stars. This is one of those books. Was this review helpful? Have you ever read If You Hopped Like A Frog? It's an entertaining kid's book that explains what a kid could do, if he had the ability of a frog, spider, or an ant etc. Made In Heaven by Ray Comfort and Jeff Seto is a similar book with one magnificent exception. From beginning to end, the reader is directed to the Maker of these animals and is shown how science and scientists can only attempt to look at such creatures and come up a similar design with some pretty amazing results. Kids (and adults!) will learn how inventions such as Velcro came about as a result of men looking at God's creation and mimicking what they saw displayed there. You'll soon come to see that men looked at:
Butterflies to prevent counterfeit money
Bird feathers to improve laser efficiency
Mosquito's angle of penetration for painless needles
Gecko's feet to inspire robots climbing vertically
Kingfisher's beaks to break the sonic boom for trains
These and 27 other inventions are studied to see how we truly got to where we are today. On the Amazon description page it says "Science shamelessly steals from God's creation, yet refuses to give God the glory!" This is a book that unabashedly does the opposite, and gives the praise back to the true Creator.
This is the type of book that one could easily read to younger kids in segments as the readings are only a couple pages long and unlike some books, the authors didn't skimp on great pictures for every page. At the same time, the writing is interesting and in depth enough to keep even teens interested in it. If your reaction is similar to what mine was, by the time you finish, you'll want to go on your own hunt to find out what else has been a copy of God's magnificent creation!

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to one of the newer books published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group and written by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto. Made in Heaven is a book that is small but definitely filled with a lot of information in it’s 64 pages that makes it appear larger than it is. A lot of this has been items that we’ve covered in our study of flying creatures this year in our science lessons and there are plants and other animals that we will learn about and we use God’s design in them for our daily lives. One of the exciting things that I found in this book was to complement our studies of butterflies and the iridescence that some contain and what we have ‘stolen’ from the butterflies design will surprise you.Was this review helpful? Bugs, fish, humans, and plants have something that we currently use in our lives to make them easier or to improve them – what about Velcro? air conditioning? healing power of our bodies? This and more is covered in this fascinating book that will have the reader looking at God’s Creation in ways that we never considered all backed up with science and research – so it’s not just a Bible thing. This book will be coming along side our studies in conjunction with our current science curricula because it will give us a little more in depth information, especially helpful for myself and my older children. This is a fantastic book that will be instrumental in viewing God’s Creation in ways never thought of before.
**Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of this book from Master Books in exchange for my honest opinion, no other compensation was given.

Made In Heaven addresses the sciences of biological (study of life) and engineering (study of man engineering or creating products) and shows how much like God's creation many of today's scientific advancements and inventions are similar.
The book's supposition is that God created and man copied His creation - or scientists doing some reverse engineering by studying God's creation to invent products for man to use based on what has been observed in natural science (or in God's creation).
Without direct testimony from the actual inventors of man's products as to the source of their ideas for inventions, one might think it pure conjecture to assume that man has copied God's creation. However, Made in Heaven absolutely does show astounding similarities between how objects have been manufactured based on incredible counter-point objects (insect eyes, leaves, fish scales, etc.) from nature (God's creation).
The book has absolutely stunning photography showing close-ups of the human eyeball, insects, ants, fish. Then there are drawings that illustrate ideas with charts, graphs, etc. that are clearly defined. The print is somewhat small and thin making it sometimes difficult to read.
While at first glance one might think the book is designed for the young elementary to middle grades student, it is not. All ages can glean from its contents. I see it sparking the imagination of a student to read further into how stuff is made and designed. I see it as drawing the scientific minded into a further examination of a field of study. I recommend it as a book to add to the school and home library.
Ray Comfort is the best-selling author of more than 70 books, including The Evidence Bible (2002 Gold Medallion Book Awards finalist) and The Defender’s Guide for Life’s Toughest Questions published by Master Books. He is the president of Living Waters ministry, co-host of an award-winning television program (with actor Kirk Cameron) called Way of the Master, blogs daily to hundreds of atheists at “Atheist Central,” and has debated atheistic evolution on ABC’s Nightline, as well as the BBC.
Jeff Seto works as an Aerospace Engineer in Experimental Research and Development. His work encompasses supersonic boom suppression, synthetic vision approach systems and structural and system testing in civilian and military sectors. He has worked internationally in the U.S., Canada, and Germany for over 20 years. He holds a B. Eng in Aerospace, an Electrical Engineering Diploma in Avionics and is a Senior member of AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics).

I’ve always found it interesting how many times that we, as humans, turn to nature to get answers on how to solve various problems. If we want achieve a certain task such as flight, bullet proof vests, armor, swimming faster…, we carefully study nature to seek out the answers. It’s rather amusing that with all of our technology nature – God’s creation – is still more advanced. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. In Made in Heaven, readers are taken on a scientific journey through 32 different studies of nature and technology. The science/technology is not dumbed down, but it’s still fairly easy for most readers to follow. Each study shows how the natural object is carefully, thoughtfully designed and what we can learn from it to advance our technology.
Our family has always been fascinated by how wonderfully we (and all of creation) are made. The Lord really knew what He was doing, and it’s very obvious when we truly look at all of creation. It’s by studying His work that we’re able to make our lives just a little bit better, a little easier.
While I’m not too fond of the phrase “Man’s Indiscriminate Stealing of God’s Amazing Design” on the cover of the book, I do believe that man can learn a lot from our Creator. This book is just a glimpse into the natural studies that are behind some if the technology of today and the future.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to help facilitate the writing of a frank and honest review. All opinions are my own. A positive review is not guaranteed.

This book is fascinating. Solid science that challenges the mind with out being too technical but lets you know that Christian Scientists like Mr. Seto, an aerospace engineer, never sacrifice scientific accuracy, or reason for Faith- there is no need at all to make that sacrifice! Faith is Reasonable! In this book, written by a Scientist and an Evangelist you have a perfect pair. A study of God's Creation in a way that always points back to the Creator. As Mr. Comfort says, looking at a painting points you to the Painter!!!
The book begins with Mr. Seto writing "Engineering is a complex and dynamic field that drives our modern culture with technological advances. They make our lives better, according to Merriam Webster, 'through the application of science and mathematics by which the properties of matter and the sources of energy in nature are made useful to people.' In short: engineers discover better, faster, and more innovative new products that improve our lives.
Engineering is imagination-and design- driven. Nowhere is this more evident than the study of the natural world applied to the science of engineering. Engineers have long examined God's Creation to understand and mimic complex and proven mechanics of design. They have plumbed the depths of the natural world, encompassing insects to plants to man in search of wisdom and insight."
I love a science book that shows science as the Christian's domain, not the stronghold of evolutionary beliefs! I love a science book that begins with this verse from Revelation "Worthy are You, or Lord and our God to receive Glory and Honor and Power, for You Created all things, and by Your will they existed and were Created." Revelation 4 verse 11.
Science must be recovered as subduing the earth and having Dominion over it. Mr. Seto continues, "The simplicity yet intricacy of how God's designs work and how He manufactures complexity in nature astounds and inspires engineers in hypotheses and designs that could not be formed otherwise. We can only marvel, admire, and maybe copy some examples our Creator has left for us to discover."
When we brought our laptop computer home last year, everyone was so excited. It was a marvel of engineering. Our computer could save years of files. Our computer found things easily. Our computer could recall all of our history. I thought to myself- All these people have a computer in their head that remembers years and years ago, is very fast, and they take it for granted! This book reminds us that as marvelous as the human engineering is- we are surrounded by engineering beyond our wildest dreams!
And that is what we do as we read this book. We marvel -at the fish scales that we are copying to make body armor, at the human eye, at lily leaves that clean themselves.
We learn that a blue butterfly is only blue because its wings are designed to let the light show us only blue. And at the heart of this book is the Gospel, the desire to let the Created world in all its richness and glory point to the Creator. The Painting points to the Painter. As the Westminster Confession confirms, Q. 2. How doth it appear that there is a God?
A. The very light of nature in man, and the works of God, declare plainly that there is a God; but His word and Spirit only do sufficiently and effectually reveal Him unto men for their salvation.
The works of God tell us He is. But only the Spirit and His Word do reveal our Salvation. As Ray Comfort says, "When skeptics ask for a 'sign' that 'proves' the existence of our Creator, the sign to look for is the sign of nature's design. When Sir Isaac Newton said that atheism was 'senseless', he chose his words carefully. Those who look at the unspeakably wonderful design of nature and don't see the hand of the Designer truly are sense-less. They're not using their God given sensess of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Nature screams of God and for some reason they turn a deaf ear, a blind eye, and a closed mouth."
As Christians we should be the most zealous for Science, the most ardent learners, and the most passionate students of " trees, bees, and even knees- with their remarkable ball and socket joints." Books from New Leaf Publishing Group and Master Books equip us to be students and learners. I feel that this book would be a favorite of boys especially. It is full of drawings of eyes, and brains, and other science things. The only thing I would not have enjoyed as a little girl was the dissected cats retina.Give this book to your budding Creation scientists!
