    more from this reviewer

Obsessed with RoadRUNNER's awesome photography and trip ideas!!

I started reading RoadRUNNER because one of my friends was a subscriber. I had never heard of it before then, but I immediately fell in love with the photography. Mostly I read it for entertainment, but I also learn something new in every issue. Not to mention, I have become extremely stir-crazy because I keep coming up with new places that my husband and I want to go on vacation. Over the summer, we took our first trip using one of the RoadRUNNER tours, and we were not disappointed. It was an awesome we would have never thought of on our own... and I love the mag. I'd recommend it to any one!

A mag. that's well ahead of the pack

Road Runner (or "RR", as longtime fans like to call it) has prevailed over a lot of lookalike pubs by setting itself apart from the "motorhead" and wheelie-popper genres. Its success comes from the fact that RR sticks with the recreational aspects of motorcycle touring with unique features like its copyrighted "Shamrock tours" and accompanying tankbag maps, GPS spec's and waypoint info., and now motorcamping. The RR editorial people are augmented by guest writers with many years of touring behind (and hopefully still ahead of) them.

While other biker mag's. hash over the technicalities, RR likes to deal with the mounts themselves (both for bikes and scooters) in terms of their touring practicalities: roadworthiness, suitability for long trips, reliability and just enough tech-head stuff to clarify the differences between/among the brands of bikes/scooters and related gear.

The companion RR forum ( gives a good insight into the tone of the RR pub. It's congenial, lacking in the usual cyber-clique of insiders vs. the world and is frequented by the RR staff. Check it out!
