This is my favorite magazine of all time. Major bummer that it's not available on the Nook, espcially when I see my iPad friends reading an electronic version. More puzzling is that I can find a subscription offering for the magazine when shopping on my Nook - there's an out-of-date subscription offering under "Hot Newsstand Picks" (the monthly subscription price would have been $10.49) But the link doesn't work when you try to subscribe to the magazine. So apparently, B&N was offering the Nook subscription to the magazine but it is no longer available. I've asked B&N for an explanation but have yet to receive one. I suggest that all interested Nook users keep writing B&N and the Economist and hopefully spur someone to take action and get us the electronic version of the magazine.Show Less

Two Thirds Of The World Is Covered By Water...The Rest Is Covered By The Economist

The Economist is, by far, the most engaging and edifying publication on the market today. I have subscribed for more than fifteen years (since high school) and I consider it to be an annual investment that is worth every dime. Where other weekly publications such as Time and Newsweek have seen their subscription base in absolute freefall, the Economist has watched its number of subscribers soar.

The magazine's writers do not hide their bias in favor of "free minds and free markets" and I often find myself in sharp disagreement with the magazine's staunch liberatarian stands on social issues. That aside, each issue of the Economist covers world affairs in far greater detail than your average newspaper or evening news program. If one were to desire knowledge of mayoral politics in Mogadishu, Somalia look no further than the Economist.

For those who wish to be accurately and intelligently informed, the Economist is an invaluable resource. You will not be disappointed.

    This is terrible!

Why offer this if you can't see it on the Nook? This is honestly infuriating!

Economist IS available on Nook Color

Maybe those complaining in the reviews have the old-school Nook, but i can report that the Economist is most definitely availabel on teh Nook Color. I bought the latest issue recently and it's great. I am seriously considering a subscription. The only problem is how expensive it is (but probably worth it). I just wish you could get a discount subscribing to the Nook version and the paper magazine simultaenously. i know my wife would love the paper copy, while I'd mostly read the digital copy on my Nook Color.

    NOOK version

As a Barnes and Noble employee, I can inform you that it is up to The Economist, not Barnes and Noble, to publish in Nook or any other electronic form as they do retain the rights.

    Unavailable for Nook

The best magazine out there is still only offered in print format here at Barnes and Noble. My next ebook reader upgrade will be to a Kindle if great magazines like this remain out of the Barnes and Noble bookstore and only in the realm of competitors like Amazon.

    No NOOK?

This is the best news magazine in publication. Period.

I had been planning to get a Nook but probably will go Kindle if they can't fix this in short order. This is a staple.

    NEEDS TO BE FOR NOOK

Getting my magazine subscriptions like the Economist is one of the reasons I chose to get an e-reader...looks like I should have chosen the Kindle...

Available on Kindle why not the nook????

Really needs to be available on the nook. I fully support barnes and noble who pays local taxes and actually runs a physical business in my community and this is why I like the nook but we really need to have more options available especially international content. With this in mind the economist is critical

    Best regards,

Excellent journalism. I feel out-of-touch with the world when I fall behind on issues and enjoy the exquisite writing style for its own sake. I have been known to laugh out loud in public at some of the unexpected and illustrative dry humor embedded in the articles.

Excellent global take on business news

I received this magazine as a gift from my stepfather and now and giving it as a gift to my father-in-law. The articles are informative, poignant, and well written. I trust their sources and integrity. And most of all, I enjoy reading the magazine. I would highly recommend The Economist to anyone interested in economics and world affairs.

    Amazing.

This is by far the best magazine I've ever read. I have lots of free time and access to almost all the magazines out there since I work at a bookstore, and this is the only one that doesn't disappoint. The articles are extremely well written and informative every single week. I look forward to reading through the new issues as soon as they come out.

    Great weekly magazine!

The writing and the analysis in The Economist are so good, I'd rather read it than a newspaper or any other weekly news magazine. Getting through every article takes a week, and is well worth the time spent.
