Pretty good for a book about a camera...
I am not a camera novice, but this book would make sense to one. I am not a camera expert, but it would help one out. This book is great for anyone. It spells out every feature this camera has and makes you WANT to experiment with the new things you learn. I got this book over David Busch's because it has the most recent "published" date. Now that I've started reading it, the language is for the lay-person, but still throws in some photography terms in every so often. The awesome thing about using the terms is that they are actually explained...at some point. Some photography books I've read just go on and on with terms and never explain what they are.
Get this is if you don't want to page through your manual (that is pdf anyway). Get this if you've already figured out the basic functions and want to see if there is more to learn (trust me, there is). It's a great book.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Not what I thought.
This is a great book for anyone who has never held a camera in their hands before. It has no useful insight about the Maxxum 7D. It is no more than an expanded owners manual with bits of basic photo/digital information. Anyone who has perchased and used the Maxxum 7D already has the knowledge contained in this book.
