Awesome

This book was awesome. I couldn't put the book down, even at school. I wait for the second book to come out. :)

Overall this is an amazing book. Wonderful take on elvish legend and how it relates to human history, very creative. The visualization used in many instances is also wonderful.

I, however, took issue with the numerous grammar, tense, and usage mistakes. Isn't that why you have an editor? to make certain that there is a minimal number of mistakes? The writing, from an English language perspective is just horrendous. There is an excessive quantity of simple but highly irritating mistakes that fall in the line of,'She knew that they is going to need. . . ' These mistakes along with excessive changes in tense make for what would amount to an F in an English class. They make a wonderful story frustrating and hard to read due to the fact that oftentimes one must stop and think, "Ok, does she mean 'they are'? Is this supposed to have happened in the past or is it currently happening?"

Overall I LOVED the story line, however, I think Ms Taber is in desperate need of a new editor.

Im sorry but this is definently in my top 5 worst books ever. I mean the author had some good ideas but it was all verrrry rushed and underdeveloped. 1 star for effort

    Alert the grammar police!!

As I read this book I became convinced that it had been written by a teenager. Imagine my surprise to realize the author is in her 20's & married!

There are some books you continue to read despite poor grammar, misuse of homonyms, & stilted conversations because the story line is interesting. This is one of those books. Unfortunately, the further I got into it the more predictable it became but, by that point, I was too far into it to quit.

I think the author has potential. She has some great ideas but would benefit immensely by taking some English lit & writing courses. There she can get constructive criticism & pointers to improve her writing style.

    Worse than Twilight

Take every ounce of Twilight corny, mix in bad plot development then terrible formating that forces you to read at publisher default. It got to annoying to keep reading after too long.

It just didn't grab my attention

I only read the first chapter of this book. It was fairly vague and confusing. The girl's mother had died, and for unknown reasons the girl was moving in with her former stepfather, who she hadn't seen in years. Just a week or so later, she is enrolled in school and flirting with a boy as if her mother hadn't just been murdered. She has weird colored hair and pointed elf-ears, and carries around a doctor's note to explain it to teachers. What doctor does she go to, and what possible condition could they use to explain that appearance away anyway? It just didn't make much sense to me and the story never captured my attention.
