    Maiden Rocks!

Maiden Rock is the sixth Claire Watkins mystery and maybe the best yet. I love the way Mary Logue brings us into the small rural community and shows us what lurks beneath the supposedly peaceful country life. In this case, it's a subculture driven by crystal meth, the greatest drug scourge so far of this millenium--so far. Logue's characters are spot-on real, with all the intricacies, terrors, and joys of real life people. I've read every book in the series, and her characters feel like family. This story reads more like a thriller than a mystery, so don't start reading late at night--it's hard to stop reading.

    Not So Good

This installment to the Claire Watkins series was way too slow-paced. The plot just didn't flow well and the book felt unfinished. The topic was great and it could gave been interesting, but the author just didn't live up to her potential. It didn't read like Logue's previous books and I began to wonder if it was even written by her. I would recommend it to those who are already reading the series just so they can read the complete set, but I would nit recommend it to anyone else. Stephanie Clanahan

Best book in this series! The condensed time frame of the story together with the subject matter make for a compelling read.

    Loved It !!!

This is the third book of Logue's I have read, and it is her best !!! It is a very quick & educational book. It takes a look at Meth & it's dangers. I recommend it to any parents that want their kids to get a look at the 'dark side' of meth.

    Haunting

As a teen I would have loved the romantic myth of Winona sailing off Maiden Rock. Ms. Logue is in touch with that time in our lives and those who would thoughtlessly corrupt such open hearts. The story progresses at pace that readers will feel they're heading towards that cliff too. Excellent!
