    highly recommended

I have enjoyed all the Lisa Jackson I've read so far. What I really like about this one is that I'm 90% done w/ the book, and I STILL haven't figured out who dunnit!

    Not up to par

Don't get me wrong I love Lisa Jackson's books and Malice was not bad as a story goes. That said, I found this to be a let down after just finishing Lost Souls which I loved. I felt like the author couldn't make up her mind what type of book she wanted it to be. A little characture introduction/history at the beginning, 100 or so pages of Bentz seeing his dead ex-wife without much else going on, a little sex scene that wasn't related to the storyline, a little serial killer murder that also had no major impact on the story . . . it was like part of another book got thrown into this one by mistake, then a few murders, and finally the predictable ending. Like the book was written in sections and I found myself getting bored with each section after about 50 pages of it. I think it would have been so much better had each of these events/sections been mixed in together and not so seperated. I kept finding myself saying ok enough allready is anything else going to happen here and then just skimming pages to get to something interesting. Not my favorite of her books but it won't stop me from reading more of hers in the future.

    Great Read!

I truly enjoyed reading the 6th book in Lisa Jackson's New Orleans Series, Malice. I really like the characters and have grown accustom to their personalities. The storyline in this book was great. I highly recommend it.

    A Good Read!

There was quite a bit of intricacy in the story lines to keep me reading more. I definitely wanted to know the killer's identity!

    I Also Recommend:

    Unique/Thrilling plot Very exciting

I truly enjoyed the continuation of the details of Rick Bentz's life. Going back to answer unanswered questions from earlier novels is an aspect I thoroughly enjoy, and Lisa Jackson tied up loose ends quite well. I hope she publishes more!

    A good read

I definitely like the book. It kept you interested although there were parts of the book that really didn't need to be there but overall it was definitely a good summer read for me.

    Jackson does it again

Reprising characters from previous books, Lisa Jackson takes them somewhere off the beaten path. Makes you wonder what keeps her up at night. Although reading the books leading up to this one is preferable, Jackson gives enough details for new readers to feel "caught up" and enjoy the story. Changed my mind about the identity of the "perpetrator" a couple of times before the denouement.

A favorite character, Rick Bentz, returns in Malice.

A favorite character, Rick Bentz, returns in Malice. Rick was hospitalized after an accident. He awakened to the "ghost" of his ex-wife standing next to his bedside. A whiff of gardenias haunts Rick. He seems fixated on his ex-wife. The newly married Rick and Olivia were deeply in love or were they? Rick is obsessed with finding the answers. Is she alive? Memories of their past disturb him. He begins searching for the truth. Has Rick lost his mind? Is an evil trying to destroy Rick?
I enjoyed this book, but I do not think it is Lisa Jackson's best book. The action never ends in this book. Malice is a bit heavy on description. Rick Bentz seemed to be different from the character I have come to love. Jackson is a talented author. I have come to expect much from her. The ending is a bit complicated. I am still a big Lisa Jackson fan and look forward to her next offering.

    Disappointing

I've read all her other books and found them fast-paced. This one was slow and I found myself starting to skim just to finish the book. This won't stop me from reading her however!

Also, the rebate is only good if Malice was purchased between 3/30 and 4/30; I purchased the book on 5/01 so the rebate offer was misleading.
