    Disappointing

When I think of spine chilling stories, I come from Stephen King's novels. This book was good, well thought. But some parts were rather confusing. But there were times that there were some creepy things that got your attention. Not as scary as I hoped, though

    A Bit Disappointing

I don't usually read ghost stories but decided to give this one a try. I have to say I was disappointed because I didn't really find it scary or spine tingling. The dialogue was annoying and usually when I read a book I like to care something about the main character. In this book I just didn't. Even at more than 600 pages it was a very quick read so I guess it has that going for it. I'm not real sure I would read anything written by this author again but I am on the look out for a good ghost story.

    Beyond Boring!!

I pushed myself to finish this book to the end. What a waist of time! There was no story, no plot. Nothing tied together. The guy just wandered around interacting with ghosts. It was hard to distinguish the living from the dead. Maybe they were all dead. Who knows? Who cares? It was beyond boring!!

    Confused

Why does the book description tell you the ending? Someone needs to edit that I think.

    Like it not so much.

I was determined to finish this book but it really wasn't very well written in my opinion. I felt like I was reading a story that a high schooler wrote. Perhaps I should just stick to auto biographies. However, I did find Stevens Kings The Shinning for $1.99 so I'm going to read that one next. I know Steven won't disappoint.

    Did I miss something ?

This is one of the most lame stories I have read in fifty years of reading. I had high hopes after seeing Stephen Kings comments, but maybe it was me that could not get the "meat" of the tale. Good luck, make your own devision.

    more from this reviewer

    Surprise!

This little gem has sticky fingers--every time I tried to stop reading it, to move on to the next piece of ipad content, I somehow got sucked up in A Manhattan Ghost Story. Again and again. Well wrought, finely tuned. Not so much scary as puzzling. Well worth its weight in time and treasure.
