    Lukewarm.

This book wasn't that well written and the plot was a bit confusing for no discernable reason. I wanted graphic BDSM, but the book was mostly comprised of the four main characters doing chores and complaining or else being ignored by the master and mistress of the house. The few sex scenes weren't all that original or stimulating, and the house itself came off as derivative and disinteresting. It felt like I was reading about a bunch of people playing pretend. I'd just as soon reread Carrie's Story or Story of O.

It is Ok for novices to pick up a few pointers.

This book has some salacious moments, but the writing is simply amateurish. The characters lack depth. The plot meanders from exercises in discipline to rather tame sexual encounters. This book is chock full of cliches. However, there are a few bright spots. Those can be used for some inspiration. This is a good introduction for the neophyte in to the BDSM community. But bear in mind that this book could have used some formal editing. There are tpyos and mis-spellings. There clunky sentences that require closer reading with insertions of corrections by the reader for the passages to make sense. Also take in to consideration that the physical make-up of the characters is stereotyped and if you are entering this world based on that soap opera-ish view of the BDSM world, you really are in for a major let-down.
