Lust for money is nothing without a lust for something else
I picked up Marrying The Lonestar Maverick as a fan of Sara Orwig's previous material. Of course, after a certain bar has been set, we have expections set from authors we go back to.
What you do get from MarryingTheLonestarMaverick are two characters that have more appeal to the average sociopath than they do the average romance reader. Sure, there's no arguing that money is good to have and we all wish to have more, but honestly, all the two characters do throughout the story is lust after money. It really gets quite irritating after a while.
As much as we have become quite accustomed to reading about high-profile, big rollers like the billionaire in Marrying The Lonestar Maverick, infusing charm and depth into the characters is what makes them winners in the end. On the subject of money, you might want to consider holding onto yours.
