The Art of the Butterfly Tamer

If you ever have trouble getting the butterflies in your stomach to fly in formation, this is the book for you. Desberg developed and tested his techniques in the Stagefright Workshops he runs for business people and professionals. His results are extraordinary. The good doctor walks you through self-evaluations, then prescribes the treatments for what ails you. His cure, in a nutshell, is to understand how your own thoughts and predictions cause the fear and to learn how to control those thoughts. He has succeeded in laying out an effective plan for you to do just that. Some of the exercises are a bit time-consuming and require genuine self-observation and reflection. If you¿re looking for a quick easy read on the subway, this isn¿t it. Prepare to work your way from cover to cover with your pencil and notebook in hand. If, however, you would benefit from better control over the butterflies in your stomach (if you do public speaking, this would be you), this book is a winner. The exercises work, and the tips are invaluable.
