I'm at a loss for words in describing how beautifully crafted this album is. Gorgeous harmonies and top notch instrumentals and production. Anyone who is a fan of classic rock/pop and would like to hear a new twist on some of their favorites needs to give this a listen. They won't regret it. The accompanying DVD is not to be missed either. Filmed at a medieval castle outside of Vienna, its visually stunning and the song selection (including a couple of Gregorian originals) are beautifully presented. Very unique and enchanting.

I bought this mainly out of curiosity - I am a fan of chant, but this was the first time I'd noticed chant covers of popular tunes. First things first - the technical quality is very low compared to other Gregorian chant albums I've heard. To me it sounded like 2-3 different voices, electronically sampled and with an echo added. The over lying music track is strictly amateurish - sounds like it's all reproduced by one man and a decent synth. Some of the tracks aren't all bad - Sadness for example is just about adequate, but honestly most of the tracks on this album are pooly executed and not suitable for this music format. I applaud the vision that the artist shows to attempt something a little different, but really, this is so badly executed, adn shows so little musical skill that it's just not worth it. Stay far away from this, it just isn't good. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

    Flawless execution, but without emotion

18 years ago, Enigma showed us that the ancient practice of Gregorian chant could be combined with modern musical ideas and instrumentation to produce something that was at the same time spiritual and sensual. For that reason, &quot Sadness (Part 1)&quot is the only track that holds my interest here. As for the rest, well... the sound quality is top-notch and the vocal work is superb in terms of melody and harmony, but it's all rather devoid of feeling. See guitarist George Bellas as another example of a musician who's focused on technique and timbre rather than heartfelt songwriting...
