Max showed a bravier side any this book like he was the hero in this book and he had more self-confidence in himself then usual.

Good, but not great

Don¿t get me wrong, Rodman Philbrick is a great author, but, how did Max get buried in all that stuff and still live? I know it¿s a book and it is supposed to be happy, but it would have been more believable if Max had just died in the wreckage. Max and Kevin dead¿ end of story! The positive is that I thought the characters were as solid as they were in Freak the Mighty, if not better. The book taught me that with good people around, the worst of times can become the best of times!

    A Dissapointment

ok so after reading freak the mighty ur expecting an amazing sequal right? well personally i thought it was a let down. Max and Rachel run away. They find dippy hippie. Good so far. Then the con artists that are hiding something. Very interesting. To bad it a wimpy ending. It seems like Rodman Philback got sick of writing this book and finished it quick. Its a real shame. Even though it isn't as great as it could be, i'd reccomend it. Its just to suspensful after freak dies in Freak the Mighty.

    Max the Mighty

We think that Max the Mighty was a very inspirational book, although we think that Freak the Mighty was better. We think that this book was full of excitement and adventure! We can recommend this book to children 10+. It was very intriguing and altogether a good book. This book was also good because of the characters, like Dippy Hippy, The Undertaker, Hobo Joe, Frank and Joanie and Officer Goodman. They all had important rols in the story. The overall rating is a three star book with great adventures and interesting characters. We ould definitely read this book again!

    Okay

This one while not as good, was still interesting. Felt sorry for Max and the misunderstanding he had to deal with it.

No contest between 'Max the Mighty' and 'Freak the Mighty'!

Max the Mighty was pretty good, but the last couple chapters ruined it. I mean what are the chances of the Dippy Hippie getting Max¿s phone number from the police and talking to Grim. Then, Grim flew all the way to a campground in Nebraska, where the Dippy Hippie was, and then both of them drove to Chivalry, Montana. Then finding the same concealed exit Max and Worm found? The second to last chapter, the part where the cave collapsed in on Max, was the best place to end the book. After that chapter, the author should have said the Undertaker was arrested and was put behind bars. I think it should have been a bitter sweet ending, like the ending in Freak the Mighty. Before the last couple of chapters, I really enjoyed Max the Mighty

Doesn't come close to 'Freak the Mighty'

I started out enjoying this book, but it eventually got boring. If you want to read a better book by this author, read the first one called Freak THe MIghty.
