I read the first book from this series and liked them enough to continue. I am glad I didn't read this one first. This one seemed to drag for me. Not enough to make me forget the series. They can't be all great reads. I just didn't get how the author made Max seemed so desperate then at the last minute he would pull back and not claim them...If he had that kind of control during the actual encounters then why didn't he have enough control to stay away from the woman he thought was engaged to his brother? I guess I got bored with him getting all worked up then denying himself everytime. I also didn't have a lot of interest in Gideon or Mandy. Since the next book is kind of tied to this one maybe my opinion might change.
