    Absolutely atrocious

Do not buy this book. This review book by McGraw-Hill is shockingly bad. A myriad of factual errors, typos, missing info, miscalculations, and contradictions are blatantly obvious in each and every chapter. Some of the information and formulas are just flat-out wrong.

I will admit, this book probably made my SAT II score higher than it would have been otherwise. But not by much, especially when compared with other review books on the market. I took the subject test yesterday. The vast majority of what was taught in the review book (or rather, what was attempted to be taught) was totally absent in the actual test, which was vastly easier than McGraw-Hill would have us believe. We are led to belive that dozens of complex formulas will be present in the test, when only the simplest are used.

The fact that the SAT test was much easier than the review book questions did not come as a surprise, however. Almost all of the review questions in the book require the use of a calculator, which the actual SAT Physics forbids. Indeed, the review book would frequently teach entire topics BEFORE saying something like "This won't be on the SAT Physics, though."

This book is a failure of epic proportions, on both its writing and its editing. It does not follow the format of the actual test, does not even teach the things that are on the test, and repeatedly makes error after error while half-heartedly trying to teach.

To some students, this book will certainly do more harm than good.
