A fun read!

Like the first book, the story starts quickly... and picks up speed from there. Also like the first book, the conflict plays out against a backdrop of future politics so bizarre that they could have been ripped from today's headlines.

In short, if you liked Mech you'll love Mech 2.

Larson's writing style is smooth and unencumbered. However Mech 2, much like the original Mech novel, lacks any real thought into the plot and guides you blindly towards the story's conclusion. The "Mech" in both novels are not so much the main character or part of the plot as they are side notes to a very watered down tale.

I couldn't bring myself to give it below three-stars because despite the aforementioned flaws I still enjoyed reading the book. It also helps that it is an afternoon read and not truly an epic affair.
