This novel, Mediterranean Holiday, is an excellent choice of reading if you are looking for something that would pass by the time. It all begins with a new student, Daviana Morgan- Harwood. To Chloe, Daviana was a thrilling and adventurous student and she automatically wished to have a strong bond with her. As I read this section, it foreshadowed that negative events would be occurring soon enough. I feel Chloe made a huge mistake being mesmerized by Daviana's unusual character. Chloe even pushes her true friends out of her life, replacing their place with Daviana. Her excitement of a new friend overcame her relationship between her best friend Abby and that was when the trouble started.

Kate Cann did an excellent job showing the feeling Abby had and expressing the excitement of Chloe's. Throughout the whole book, new events kept crashing in which made me want to never put the book down. Even while Chloe struggled with friendship, she met a boy and had problems with her family. Daviana's characteristics though negative had some positive effects for it allowed Chloe to take a trip of a lifetime.

This novel has an original plot to it which thrills the mind of the reader.Show Less

Kate Cann writes a scrumptious tale of a dream vacation that features more twists and turns than a roller-coaster in MEDITERRANEAN HOLIDAY, a coming-of-age story that never fails to entertain.

Chloe, a British teen, is trying to regroup and adjust to living with just her dad, after her mom leaves the family for her lover. She decides to refrain from all contact with her mother and does her best to avoid even thinking about her. When stunningly beautiful and spoiled Davinia arrives at Chloe's private school, her presence is a welcome distraction for Chloe. She finds Davinia utterly fascinating and will do anything it takes to befriend her. Throwing away her old friends without a second thought, Chloe spends more and more time with the dangerously daring Davinia in and out of school.

The two become fast friends and before she knows it, Chloe is invited to vacation with Davinia's wealthy family on the luxurious island of Caminos, a small island in the Mediterranean. Chloe jumps at the opportunity and daydreams about all of the exciting adventures that she and Davinia will have over the course of their summer. As soon as school's out, the two girls leave behind everything drab in Britain for the sunshine and swimming in Caminos.

Right away--well, as soon as they board the plane--Chloe meets a boy that leaves her breathless, and over the course of the summer, Chloe finds herself trying to balance her friendship with Davinia, her pursuit of romance, her family situation, and her newfound independence.

But Davinia doesn't turn out to be the girl Chloe thought she was and somebody Chloe thought she never wanted to see again suddenly shows up on the island. Suddenly, Chloe's Mediterranean vacation is nothing like she thought it would be. Will Chloe be able to straighten out her holiday mess and enjoy her last few weeks on Caminos?

MEDITERRANEAN HOLIDAY is a sweet and spicy look at the real life challenges behind a seemingly perfect vacation. I can only hope that someday I'll have a summer vacation as action-packed as Chloe's!

    Pick Your Holiday

Ok, this book was really good. I do think that Spanish Holiday was sooo much better. Also, Iwish we had seen some more of the char. earlier on. But I would def. read this.

    sweeet

I looooved this book! It was sooo good! Although it wasn't as good as Spanish Holiday, I still thought this book was pretty amazing...just not enough good stuff though....like the ending was kind of cut off. But definitely worth reading if you liked Spanish Holiday!I just wish the romance came earlier in the book!

    Good, but not great

Well this book was okay, nothing worth rushing over to the book store for, and honestly a little choppy. In most, if not all Kate Cann books, the main character meets a hot guy then does nothing about it for 100 pages. Skimming these will not hurt you, as a matter of fact, it'll save you so much time, as nothing happens in these chapters. Then out of nowhere the characters get together. It's like they secretly liked each other then kiss then all the sudden they are in love. There is no build up to the characters, no development, which makes it a little disappointing, and unbelievable. Now, because this book does not go into the relationship of chole and alex in depth a connection between the reader and the characters is lost. Which is probably the reason this book got a lot lower reviews than Spanish Holiday, as in that particualr book there is 100 pages straight of the relationship between the two main characters that allows the reader to feel as if they are experiencing the situations played out in the book. However, if you are a Kate Cann fan you are going to like this book, it may be out of a sense of obligation, or you may just like it, but there are much better books out there, and you should read those instead of this strict beach read.

    ehhh

Spanish Holiday was a whole lot better. This book sort of draws out everything. Then everything happens all at once and leaves you feeling like 'what the heck just happened'. It's very predictable as well =/. I was really dissapointed cause i've read all the other holiday books.
