Great Summer Read!
I am reading this for the second time. It really takes you away with the story and scenery. It is like taking a vacation to the Mediterranean. In addition the food and recipes sound amazing! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

A wonderful memoir, travel & cook book rolled into one. Having traveled in the area, enjoyed some sailing & since I love to cook, I was hooked from the start. It was enlightening to read about the challenges David faced from the planning of menus & shopping for provisions to locating places aboard to store everything before even beginning the cooking process in a small space on a moving yacht. Yikes! Then to have to please, not only the owners & their guests, who didn't always agree, but the crew as well, while dealing with multiple tastes & personalities. Shalleck also interspersed his journey with some interesting history of the area as well as subtle humor. This book has just the right ingredients to make for fascinating reading. Question: an earlier reviewer, Bailey66, raved about the book but only gave it one star. Shouldn't that be corrected? Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
