    A Funny, Charming Fable

    I picked up this book because of the cover. Inside, I discovered more wonderful illustrations and a sweet, satisfying story about friendship, loyalty and self-esteem. Medusa is a great character. I loved all the little nods to classical mythology (two of her horrid classmates are Perseus and Theseus) as well as contemporary culture (a stylist with a fake French accent tries to tame Medusa's snakes). Highly recommended.
