An excellent addition to your book collection.

This is a very unsual book. It has not been published since the fall of Germany after WWII and the original was thought to be lost. Fortunately it was rediscovered and republished. This is the official version which was produced by the Nazi printing presses and distributed in English only in Germany. It was available to American and British POW's in their prison libraries. It is fascinating to read this official version and compare it to other editions like the Ford translation. You will find many differences and translation variations. Some are highlighted in the introduction which also explains more about the book.

It is well worth the investment to see this unusual version which has a lot of history behind it.

Even the Publisher Doesn't Like This Translation

Michael Ford, who self-publishes this under his "Elite Minds" logo, writes the following about this translation in his "Mein Kampf: A Translation Controversy":

This version "had many gross misspellings, punctuation errors, and grammar errors. Apparently, an English speaking Nazi Party member took James Murphy's unpolished translation and tried to finish it. The result is very poor and this may be part of the reason it was not more widely distributed."

Why would one want to buy such a bad translation? Few of us need more than one translation of "Mein Kampf." Go with the one by award-winning translator Ralph Manheim.
