Amazing read

This is one of those 'simply' written books that pack a wallop when finished. I was utterly breathless with the conclusion muc h like I was at the end of 'Atonement'. I found myself going back to the beginning to see how the preceived history of the family is told to Phillippe and how it was really. Loved this sad book.

Brief Surprise

I picked this book up on a quick trip to Barnes. Literally, I was in and out in less than 8 minutes. However, I spotted this little, (what I will now call), treasure, in the 'New Releases' section. I'm the type of reader that is attracted by 'different.' Am I glad I didn't pass this one by. It took me a night and half to get through. It was poignant and to the point and, yes, dark at some moments, but a very good read. Glad to have it in my library collection, and have already recommended it to my book club!
