The book cover is a little clue as to what you will be in for if you decide to read. Mexican Bowl Fishing is book of short stories about things that were just meant to go wrong but something you can laugh about later. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Mexican Bowl Fishing stories were short and entertaining. Not too dark for stories about things going bad. There were no hospitals, death or anything like that. My favorite of the stories is about the dogs he has had.
The downfall of this book to me is it’s cover. While it does match for one of the last stories and what is going on in it. The bright cover made me not want to pick it up. It is better than it’s cover, so it’s cover deserves better.
If I could use two words to describe the book ..”Murphy’s Law” meaning if it can go wrong it will.
That is the way the stories are but in a brush it off your shoulders and laugh kinda way.

Laughter IS the best medicine!
I laughed aloud. I couldn't help myself. William Douglas Little's book MEXICAN BOWL FISHING and Other Tales of Life is full of humorous parables about life and the events that make us blush with embarrassment, simmer with rage, cause a bruised ego or bring us that comeuppance we somehow earned along life's journey. Was this review helpful? From the first story of Eddie's superglue fiasco, to being outwitted by a pet and the lesson not learned in the final story Mexican Bowl Fishing, I laughed. We have all been there and done things similar, but William Douglas Little writes it so well, and tells it so honestly. His writing takes away that feeling of stupidity, it removes the hit to the confidence because laughing out loud is therapeutic and knowing that you aren't the only one - well what is more equalizing than knowing that at some time or another the rest of the world has hit that sliding glass door head first.
Thank you for the laughter. This book is a must read especially on those days where patience is lost and anger ties you up in knots. Laugh aloud and feel the warmth of camaraderie.

William Douglas Little has enjoyed writing since he was a child. When he saw his first article in print, he was hooked. He continued writing and landed a monthly column with MPN. Mexican bowl Fishing and Other Tales of Life is a collection of his short stories. Each of the 26 stories are filled with humor and written in a conversational style. From Superglue to little old ladies driving a Cadillac to parking tickets, what seems improbable really can happen. While these stories may seem over-the-top, ¿truth is better than fiction.¿ The best story in this book has to be the one about Superglue. The second best one is the little old lady and the Cadillac. I was laughing out loud at both. Mexican bowl Fishing and Other Tales of Life is a great read. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. What a fun book!
I was fortunate to get an early copy and I've not put it down! This book is a RIOT! The title originally attracted me, (my wife wasn't so sure), and I am thrilled that I chose it. The author is funny and you can tell that he's an average guy suffering from average woes, but he finds the humor in things that would depress me! Great book. I highly recommend! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
