    not recommended for some

Spoiler alert. This book contains a gut wrenching loss that hit too close to home for me and was much too deep a subject to be dispatched in the 20 pages or so allotted the subject.

    Not well written

This is the 2nd book that I've read by Eloise James. In both books, her writing style is terrible! I feel like a schizophrenic reading her books. The storylines have great potential, but the writing focused on so many other unnecessary things & conversations. I found myself skipping pages to skip through conversations that should've been cut out of the book. I also found myself having to go back & reread something because the storyline would all of sudden just change without notice & I had to recheck whether I skipped a page or not. I personally don't recommend this book unless it becomes a free book or one on the $0.99 rack because it's definitely not worth anymore than that!!!

    Bought at B&N

This series' books are all very long and drawn out. Sometimes that is good, sometimes not. I liked Patrick more than his twin but the characters seemed to concern themselves over the stupidest things.

    One of My Favorites

This was my first Eloisa James series and I loved it. I was so excited that Sophie and Patrick got their own book. I'm actually reading it right now (for the fourth or fifth time).

    Wow

The book Midnight Pleasures was a great book because it was more of a comedy than a romance. The author Eloisa James writes the story superbly well in the sense that she very easily paints you a picture for the entire story. Throughout the whole book, you can vividly inmagine what is happening. In the story, the Duchess Sophie is engaged to several men, but breaks the engagements because the men say or do something faulty of her likings. She goes from guy to guy looking for 'Mr. Right'. Then one day she finds a man sitting in a creek after his horse dumped him. The story continues from there and takes some turns.

    Midnight Pleasure is midnight reading

This was a really good book. It kept me up in the wee hours of the morning because I couldn't put it dowm. I loved Sophie but not as much as Charlotte. I thought Charlotte had more class although Sophie was more daring. This was the perfect secquel to Potent Pleasures.....can't wait to see what's next....Eloisa James is the diva of romance!

    A delightfull and touching story

This is a truely wonderul story. It attached my senses. I laugh at Sophies' mischeviousness and I cried buckets when she lost her baby. Miss James literally bought these characters to life. As a first time reader of her novels, I was pleasantly surprise, I will definately be reading more of her work. I would love to read Madelines' story.

    I LOVED MIDNIGHT PLEASURES!!

After reading Potent Pleasures I was eagerly waiting for Midnight Pleasures. I knew I might be disappointed because my expectations were so high . . . but I wasn't, not at all. I loved it. This is the sweetest, funniest, most wonderful romance I've read all year (and I read one to two a week). All I can say is, I'm hooked and can't wait for Eloisa's next book.

    Great story!

Lady Sophie York had already broken the hearts of most every eligible man in the ton. Even though she had turned Patrick Foakes down (because he was a well known rake), it was he that she longed for. Instead, she chose Patrick¿s friend, the dull Earl of Slaslow, Braddon Chatwin. She and Braddon were to elope, but it was Patrick in disguise that showed up. Compromised, they must marry, but neither totally trusted the other. To make things worse, Patrick was to help in a mission against Napoleon. A simple quest, that may kill them both!

*** A terrific story that is as if Regency and Thriller were suddenly combined! Like TNT, I found it explosive! Excellent! Highly recommended for all Regency Romance or Historical Romance fans! ***

    Excellent plotting

In 1804, after declining twenty-two known proposals of marriage, Sophie Yorke accepts the offer of Braddon Chatwin, the amiable but slow Earl of Slaslow. Sophie knows that infamous rake Patrick Foakes is the one that makes her body sing with his heated kisses. However, when they were caught in lip lock, he honorably proposed marriage, but she rejected his offer to save her reputation because she fears being married to a philander.

Patrick believes his not having a title led to his rejection and Braddon¿s acceptance by Sophie. However, several events occur that change the situation. The government bestows the title of the Duke of Gisle on Patrick so that he can provide a diplomatic service with Selim III, ruler of the Ottoman Empire. He is also caught assisting Braddon elope with Sophie, forcing them to wed. Though attracted to one another, Sophie needs to persuade her rake that she agreed to marriage this time because she loves him not because of a title.

MIDNIGHT PLEASURES is a pleasurable Regency romance that will provide plenty of enjoyment to sub-genre fans. The government¿s sly use of rakes and the shift to the Ottoman Empire adds a fresh perspective to the tale. Readers can feel the heat generated when Patrick and Sophie look at each other as this sensual pair turns the novel into a page burner. Eloisa James may be relatively new on the scene, but with this novel and POTENT PELASURES, she is earning a reputation for excellent storytelling.
