Midnight's Kiss

The reign of evil has ended with the death of the two most corrupt Droughs, but restlessness has settled over the MacLeod castle.

The mated Warriors yearn for normal lives, to live, to die, to create life beyond themselves, but the search for the scroll containing the spell to bind their gods seems never-ending. When a lead is discovered, Arran, bored with the recent inactivity and the need to unleash his pent up aggression, volunteered to go.

When he arrives at the archaeological site, he is slammed with Druid magic. Magic so potent it seeps into him until the drive to find the Druid is almost equal to the drive to find the missing spell.

Dr. Ronnie Reid, a Druid with the uncanny ability to find ancient artifacts, knows something special lies beneath the soil of her site. When she meets Arran, she fears that the unbelievably gorgeous Warrior would become a distraction since the attraction is both instant and mutual.

After a prophesy is discovered naming Ronnie as the bringer of doom, a new fight emerges. Together they must find the spell, fight new monsters, and stop the prophesy from being fulfilled.

Midnight’s Kiss is sexy all the way through. The sexual tension between Arran and Ronnie will have you biting your nails in anticipation and fanning your brow once they are together. The new villain rivals the past two with his drive to rule and exceptional resources. Once again, Donna Grant’s use of setting makes you feel as if you’ve traveled the world with her characters and although you see familiar faces, the plotting is fresh and unique.  I look forward to reading the next book, because there’s no way the Dark Warrior series should end.

Liked but confusing series

I like the book and the characters. However, breaking out into a 4 or 5 part series of books was annoying. also I could not determine from the description given of the last book what it contained - I think it was a repeat of #4 as far as I could see and was money wasted...

MIDNIGHT'S KISS is a game changer - one that will set the rest of the series in motion. ~ Under the Covers

The very first question that popped into my head concerning this book was, where will Grant take us next? After wrapping up several threads in the last book, Grant has the opportunity to open up a whole new vista to explore in this book. After having read the blurb to this book, I had a feeling that I would love it. And I did!

I am a sucker for archaeologist heroines. I honestly don't know what it is. Maybe it's the research and the history that goes with it, that feeling of discovering something so vast and beyond yourself that intrigues me. Or maybe it's having that hope that something is bigger out there. Whatever it is, I love it and I ended up loving Dr. Veronica Reid a lot. She is smart, spunky and a little feisty if I say so myself. Her first meeting with Arran was hilarious and boy, does she know how to keep the immortal warrior in his place! Right from that scene, I knew that I would be falling headlong in love with this book.

Arran is much like the other warriors in the series, but I thought Arran to be a little more playful with Reid than I expected. It was a nice change and I really loved how their relationship developed.

Arran's big task is to find the spell to bind the god within him, but upon meeting Reid, he finds that she is also a Druid who uses her abilities to help her unearth ancient artifacts. Again, the part of me fascinated with old things jitters with glee and excitement.

As the threats and obstacles hit them at every angle, readers are thrown into a whirlwind of activity that is sure to have them flipping the pages quickly as I was. Grant really impressed me with this book. We see a lot of our favorite characters, as we always do with this series, but there is the introduction of new, exciting things that I think readers will appreciate. I definitely enjoyed the way Grant was able to add a freshness to the series. I wonder what Jason Wallace has planned and will it be enough to defeat the warriors? I'm excited to read MIDNIGHT'S CAPTIVE to find out!

MIDNIGHT'S KISS is a game changer - one that will set the rest of the series in motion. With high emotions and even bigger threats, MIDNIGHT'S KISS just may be my favorite of the series so far.

    4.5*
I loved this book. Arran and Ronnie had great chemistry. The pull of the Druid magic between them was so strong you could almost feel it yourself. That's good writing. I can't get enough of this series. You will need tissues. Just a warning.
