I would have given this one star but Feehan can write so that wouldn't be fair. I can't stand the wimpy heroines. How can I believe this woman can take care of herself when a)she keeps saying she can't and b)she's nothing without her man. Every time I start one of her [Feehan's] books, I hope for a strong female character but all I ever get is the same emotional, needy woman she always writes. And the men?! Sometimes these men are SO sensitive that I doubt they could take care of anyone, they're so full of emotions and thinking all the time. Spare me. I give up on her books. It's the same characters with different names and locations over and over and over again. Give me a woman who is with a man because she wants to be AND doesn't turn into a simpering nit-wit when she gets one. Oh, and the instant love? What's up with that. Doesn't anyone believe that more time than a couple of days have passed before the characters fall in love should happen? Tell me I'm not alone! And where's the sexual tension? It's going to happen not long after meeting and even though she's a virgin - almost always - it's an amazing experience and so fabulous that she can't wait to do it right away again! I was a virgin once and I remember it being painful and not ready the same day to hop on again. You know, it's shame to get this annoyed by a book when all I have to do is stop reading anything by this author. That's a good plan.
