    Wonderful Read!

This book reminded me of what I have always felt in life - that people are people and should be respected for that before we make our shallow judgements regarding gender and appearances. I had to keep reminding myself throughout the reading whether the main character was male or female - and closer to the end I felt the realization that it didn't matter - I loved him/her anyway - regardless. What better lesson in life can there be! It's a compelling read that will keep you turning the pages - and when it's done, you wish it wasn't - it's that good!

    Brilliant!

This book broke my heart! It was beautiful, tragic, comic, mysterious, playful, uplifting and intense! I cried when it fell to it's inevitable conclusion. Well done Wesley Stace!

    A Ripping Read!

Not just a book containing the interesting premise of gender roles and how those roles affect a person's life but actually a darn good soap opera-like mystery, too. Definitely a page-turner. Bravo, Mr. Stace -- well done!

    Couldn't put this book down!

This book may be a little hard to read at first, but stick with it, because it is great! Some of the words or phrases are hard to understand, but it keeps it in character with the narrator, who lived in the 1800's. I was disappointed when I finsished the book, as I wanted it to keep going! One of those rare books that keeps you from starting a new book right away because you get so wrapped up in it.
