Surprisingly Difficult Reading
I thought having Jacobina Martina, a comedy wrier, would bring a normal prose to Miss Manners' style of writing. I was wrong. The book is just like her column, written in the third person, too obviously "clever" in her choice of names, addresses, etc. I was looking for a way to have a simple, dignified wedding. It was difficult to find the information, having to dig through the question/answer style, although once I found it, it was helpful. It could have been written simply, in a dignified manner, like her title indicated. Instead it was filled with her "special" self-deprecating humor, which filled the pages with useless words and wasted my time.
