Richly romantic

Taige Branch was blessed, or maybe cursed, with the special gift of vision. She certainly doesn¿t feel special though and has had more than her fair share of pain - emotional and physical. Losing both parents and being sent to live with her fire and brimstone preacher of an uncle, she was constantly berated and regularly beaten because of the ¿evil¿ that supposedly had taken residence in her young body. Despite all of this, Taige uses her gift to the best of her ability, saving more than one person from certain death and then suffering the physically ravaging consequences in private after. When a wealthy boy¿s family buys a vacation home in the Alabama gulf where Taige lives, the teens are instantly attracted and it isn¿t long before he witnesses her gift first-hand. Unfortunately, she is unable to predict Cullen¿s mother¿s violent death, only to be blamed by him and cast aside.

Taige and Cullen may have been separated for several years but they never forgot each other. When Cullen¿s young daughter is kidnapped, Taige is the first person the single father turns to for help. Now officially working with the FBI to find missing children, Taige¿s abilities are maximized to the fullest. Cullen¿s daughter is found, but in doing so, Taige discovers and connects with a multitude of other murdered children who have been missing for decades. Cullen soon realizes that his daughter has the same gift as Taige, as did the children whose remains were recently discovered. He knows that in order for his daughter to ever have true peace in her life he will have to work with Taige in finding the man whose evil is responsible for the sheer hell these children endured. They won¿t have to look far though because he has Taige in his sights and he¿s bent on total destruction.

Shiloh Walker has outdone herself with this book. It¿s dark, sensual and suspenseful, but most of all it¿s chock full of excellently written emotion and turmoil. Taige and Cullen are damaged souls, and while their backgrounds couldn¿t have been more different, their hearts and their love for each other are very much the same. They both regret what could have been for their relationship all those years ago, but celebrate what the future may hold for them. I personally feel that this just might be Shiloh Walker¿s best work to date and I highly recommend it.

The Missing by Shiloh Walker

Fabulous! Riveting. Grabs you by the heart and throat and won't let go. "The Missing" is Shiloh Walker's latest release and it's a hell of a book! It's a bit darker and much deeper than any other of her works I've read (and that's quite a few) and in a totally good way.

Taige has always been different. Her psychic gift manifested when she was a very young child, but understanding her 'gift' took quite a lot longer. Her current career, finding lost and taken children, came about after a heartbreaking loss that cost her her one and only love. Now she accepts that she can't find every single one and it's not her choice who she can and cannot help. But when her lost love reappears seeking her assistance for his own child, will she be able to help him without losing her heart all over again.

I was wrapped up in this book from the first page. Walker has a skillful touch with making you feel for and with her characters. Taige is such a complex character who at times beats herself up more than anyone else can. Our hero, Cullen, is just as complicated. Their relationship is tangled and tantalizing with many ups and downs, but always hot. The only drawback I found was that I had the 'bad guy' figured out pretty quick, but that didn't keep me from enjoying the read while I watched the rest of her character's follow the clues. I hope she continues with a few more books in this world/setting as there are several very interesting secondary characters I would love to see with a story of their own.

This is the first book that I've read from this author and I'm not dissapointed at all. I'm definetly a new fan. I could'nt put the book down. Great suspense, romance,,,,,

Excellent book! Stayed up all night to finish it

I am ashamed to say I bought this book kind of as a "desperate read". I have not read Shiloh Walker in quite some time, but this book really caught my interest. I could not put it down. Loved it from beginning to end.

Amazing

absolutely loved this book. Had me hooked from beginning to end. Shiloh Walker has definitely become one of my favorite authors.

Great Story!

This is the very first interracial novel i have read and honestly i enjoyed it a lot. I mean i didn't know about it well till 1/2 the book was finished but even then i was not tempted to stop reading.
The story is about a psychic girl who falls in love with the 'rich white boy'. This only leads to her falling to fast and too hard and then being left with a broken heart. Basically not to give away the whole gist of the story but they meet again after 12 years because he needs her help with a family tragedy.
The passion between the two main characters is forever burning and even during the time they spent apart their love is still aflame. Shiloh Walker, in her book gives us the point-of-view of both characters and portrays them in such a way that one can only wonder if they're real. The emotions are so real that the reader knows what the character is going through and it was real fun reading this novel.

I got this book from the shelve next to Harry Potter and some of the scenes from this book were very sexual and I was not aware, luckily it was me who picked it up and bought it rather than a pre-teen who would after reading it would not require Sex-Ed. However this was a great plot line it was full of shocking twists.

Phenomenal writing

THE MISSING is a phenomenal tale, with a captivating plot, full of intense emotions and fascinating characters that absolutely blew my mind! Shiloh Walker immediately drew me into the riveting story of Taige and Cullen. I was so enthralled into their lives that by Chapter Three I was bawling my eyes out, it was not a sniffle-sniffle, little tear-up scene, I was absolutely sobbing. I can't remember the last book I read that made me cry so hard. Taige and Cullen were just so compelling that I was completely immersed in their lives and actions, their pain was so acute that I could feel it. Now don't get me wrong, this book wasn't a sobfest or anything like that, but it was very emotional read. There were moments of joy and happiness, anger, and crushing defeat, a mix feelings that were so well written and defined, that I could forget I was reading about fictional characters. I finished this book feeling extremely satisfied. I eagerly anticipate reading more of Shiloh Walkers books, as she has yet to disappoint me.

Sexy and dangerous thriller

THE MISSING, by Shiloh Walker, is a supernatural thriller and passionate romance all rolled into one. Walker captivated me from the beginning when I first met Taige. Her gift to see death was both a curse and a blessing, and I was fascinated to see where this story would take her.

Taige and Cullen are now one of my top book couples. This book gives both POVs of Taige and Cullen so I was able to get into both of their heads to really understand what they were thinking and how they felt about each other. I thought it was cute how Cullen had to really work for Taige to be with him both times they met. Taige was incredibly strong and incessantly stubborn, but she had a gigantic heart for those in her visions and would stop at nothing to save them. I like how Cullen eventually learned the error of his ways and (unlike many other men) tried to redeem himself. One aspect of their relationship that was breathtaking was their passion. Oh my goodness these two were like two matches ready to strike into a flame! Like I said, definitely top couple.

I loved Walker's creation of Taige's psychic ability. I wanted Taige to always succeed but I appreciated the moments of failure that she encountered because it pushed her to become more skilled. Even as an adult she faced hardships at her job because her gift and emotions were stretched to the limit to appease her "boss".

The big reveal for this book was a-total-shock! I knew I should have know, but I could not fathom that it would lead to what it did. The things that this criminal did to others was twisted and sick, and it broke my heart each time Taige missed out on a chance of uncovering the truth.

Overall, this was a pretty awesome book. I loved the romance and supernatural aspect of this book. I also loved the idea that even if you have made a mistake in the past, it is never too late to fix it.

Don't Miss THE MISSING!

I read The Missing when it first came out. I bought it in TRADE SIZE because I am a fan of Shiloh Walker's writing and would NOT wait one minute more to get my greedy little hands on this book!

The Missing did NOT disappoint!

Chock full of suspense and emotion The Missing grabbed my heart and took it on a roller coaster ride. The kind with big drops and lots of loops.

While there is a paranormal element in this book (and it is a huge part of the story), for me, the part that touched me the most and has lasted with me over time was the love expressed by Taige and Cullen.

Taige and Cullen's teenage love filled my soul with pleasure. I soaked it up like sunshine. In truth, I wanted it to last forever but knew that lasting forever doesn't always come without bumps in the road. Or boulders.

The utter sorrow of losing Cullen's mother for both Cullen and Taige brought me to tears. I had to stop reading and just let the sorrow out. Not all readers will respond like I did. I wouldn't expect them to. I cannot imagine, however, that any reader could remain unmoved by the emotion these characters express.

Luckily for Shiloh Walker, she didn't leave my heart broken into a million pieces. Not that Walker is afraid of my wrath because typically she laughs in the face of my wrath. Despite her disregard for my fury, Walker did right by Taige and Cullen. Shiloh Walker gave Taige and Cullen the opportunity to work through their past and toward a happily ever after.

If you enjoy suspense, paranormal (psychic elements) and soul deep romance, don't miss THE MISSING by Shiloh Walker.

Great Read

There is something about the style of Ms. Walker's reading that captivates me. I was hooked quickly with this book. What a great story. I loved the characters of Taige and Cullen. The emotion of their lives jumped off the page and grabbed me. I have not been disappointed by any of her writing yet. What a great book.

GREAT READ...highly recommended

This book was very emotional. I really felt for the Paige. I was pleasantly suprised at how good it was as I just picked it up because it was in the "new release" section at my libary. I wasn't expecting much but couldn't put the book down once I started. The love Paige had for Cullen was incredible. The love scences were HOT and SWEET. Cullen's characters wasn't as well developed as can be but there was enough of his POV to make him likeable but not too much to make him into a pansy as some of the other third person's POV books are.

Suspenceful and heart wrenching

This is a great book. The characters are wonderful. You feel all of their emotions and can't put it down. I love Shiloh Walker's books.

Wonderful story

Shiloh Walker pens a suspense filled romantic story in The Missing.

As a teenager Taige Branch could see things before they happened. When she acted on them this cause her to be more isolated from those around her. That was until she met fellow teenager Cullen Morgan. They started a yearly summer romance that ended tragically when Cullen¿s mother was murdered. Cullen knew about Taige¿s gifts and couldn¿t forgive her for not stopping his mother¿s death.

Years later neither has forgotten the other, both still dream about each other. When Cullen, now a widow with a young child has to turn to Taige for help when his little girl is missing. Taige has never forgotten the last cruel words from Cullen but she has made it her life mission to help any child she can.

Cullen and Taige pull their strengths together to find his daughter. Along the way they reignite a passion that was still simmering. But lurking in the background is a danger to them all that is much closer then they realize.

The Missing is exceptional. The plot twists and turns will really keep you guessing. Taige and Cullen¿s romance is unconventional from their first meeting. But its one of the most compelling and sensual relationship that I have read in a while. Looking forward to more from Shiloh Walker.

This is a great romantic suspense
