A Must for Serious Travellers
For geocachers and letterboxers, a DeLorme map book is a must. It provides enough detail to keep you from getting lost while exploring the back roads in unknown territory. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
Geocachers also participate in what's called "the DeLorme Challenge": Finding at least one geocache on each page of a DeLorme map book for an entire state.
The only downside of DeLorme map books: They show all minor roads as skinny red lines whether they are paved or not. On my trip to Mississippi, I found a numbered state road that turned out to be a dirt road. And sometimes the roads shown are completely impassable, or even gated off as private property.
