    Not worth the purchase

I purchased this book for a class and found Dulles' writing difficult to follow and comprehend. He uses 200 words to say what could be said in 10, and I felt as though I needed a degree in theology to get through the book. I recommend using Google to research the topics instead of buying the book.

An Important Book in Catholic Self-Understanding

Cardinal Dulles is a great thinker and writer, and this book is arguably his greatest contribution to Catholic theology. Perhaps his greatest asset is that he writes about a complex theme with a style that is easy to follow.

    Extremely Helpful

Avery Cardinal Dulles finds common ground for all Christians by exploring carefully rich and deep historical understandings of the church. He employs well-structured arguments and voices his arguments in clear prose.
