This is my favorite book (and I own a lot of books). Even if you don't want to adhere to a strict macrobiotic diet, this book contains a wealth of information anyone can use. There are resources for foods rich in calcium, protein, etc. I have referred back to this book time and time again for various food-related questions. It is well written, the photos are beautiful, and the recipes are tasty (and easy). There are also options in the book for various short term cleanses (one day to one month) for those that just want to eat cleaner for a short time. I am no longer on a macrobiotic diet, but I need to go back to it. My weight was very low and I felt great when I followed a macrobiotic program.
