my favorite notebooks
I fell in love with Moleskine hardcover notebooks originally, but lately the softcover Cahier model has been my choice for both my personal journal and my writing projects. Lightweight and sturdy, they handle being stuffed into my backpack far better than spiral bound notebooks, and I find the size just right. The detachable pages in back are fantastic for letters, notes to myself, and to-do lists which are easily tucked into the pocket. For my novel-in-progress I use the detachable section for story arc, plotting and character bios that I clip or staple as needed into the narrative. I put decorations on the front covers to differentiate my projects, and I really appreciate how I can carry a stack of these around without it being unwieldy.

Sturdy, Light and Compact
These are the best journals I've ever found. We are a homeschooling family and we keep chronological history journals. We also use them for copywork. We write, draw, watercolor, glue pictures, etc. The binding is excellent; like a hardcover book so you can fill them to twice their original size. We buy both the lined and plain paper journals.
