Darkly erotic series..Must read series in order!
This is the 3rd story of the Monere series and I have really enjoyed this series. However, It is so dark and violent that I may take a break before reading the next book and read something light hearted. Mona Lisa is a strong Queen leader that is just arriving to take over her new territory of Louisiana . There are constant struggles and attacks on Mona Lisa and her people. This series must be read in order to even begin to understand what is going on or who the characters are. This story was fast paced, never a dull moment. Mona Lisa has great moments of compassion and I really like that about her character.
Mona Lisa has two lovers Amber and Gryphon, that are also Warrior Lords (the strongest warriors amongst the Monere race). They love each other dearly, and in doing so often endanger themselves in order to save each other. There is some serious quality time with Prince Halcyon which is always a bonus.
Though I look forward to seeing where the series goes, it is darkly erotic. I was very sad with how Sunny chose to end this book and hope that there will be some happiness for the heroes/ heroine down the road.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

The first book Mona Lisa Awakening was good but this book was ten times better. I just could not put this book down, sunny's writing style is excellent she pulls you into the story word by word. Do not pass ths book up this is a MUST READ. "I checked the first two books out from the libray but I will be buying the the series for my personal libray." It's so worth it.

Sunny is blossoming into a star well worth reading
She never fit in to human society and now she knows that it is because she is three quarters Monere, a Mixed Blood with great speed, incredible strength, acute hearing and the ability to shapeshift. Drinking blood is a by-product of her heritage as a child of the moon. She has two lovers Amber and Gryphon, Warrior Lords who willingly will die to protect the new Monere Queen of New Orleans.-------------------- Unlike the rest of the Monere, Mona Lisa can walk in sunlight, but like her people she also can live for centuries. She has powers that are unique to her including a special healing and has the prowess of all the mighty Queens. Halcyon, the High Prince of Hell, loves Mona Lisa and thanks to his healing skills, she survives the attack of Mona Louisa of Western Mississippi. However to live he must take her back to his abode and survive what awaits her there.-------------------- This erotic fantasy will appeal to Laurel K. Hamilton¿s fans because Sunny ahs constructed a fascinating feudal society living amidst modern day mortals yet hidden in plain sight. Mona Lisa is growing into her powers, but as the first ever Mixed Blood ruler she has enemies including her mother and many she does not know about. Although she can be cruel as needed, Mona Lisa uses compassion and justice to command respect and loyalty. Sunny is blossoming into a star well worth reading.---------------- Harriet Klausner

An AWESOME book!! I highly recommend reading this series!!
At first, I wasnt too sure about the Monere Series. I was just looking around at different novels to read since I just finished reading one of my favorite series, The Meredith Series, by Laurell K Hamilton. I love the way that she writes and I was looking for someone that is similar. So I just jumped into this series, and I was so suprised. I absolutely LOVE the way Sunny writes. She mixes romance, action, and a little bit of intrigue all into one. I would read anything that is written by Sunny. I would say that this book is a Paranormal Romance but its a little more graphic sexually than the normal romance book. But it still is a wonderful series and I highly recommend this to anyone that likes a good paranormal or fantasy story.

Sunny creats a world of wonders!
Great book! Making it an exquisit reading! The author creats a world filled with vivid, romantic details and characters. If you love Anita Blake series, you'll love this series as well! This series is more romantic and touching with less blood, but with just as much action and thrills! You'll fall in love with the characters as I have. They are filled with detail and love. I'm looking forward to her next one. I'm sure it will be just as fullfilling as the previous volumes! I can't wait!

Positive
I was so taken back by the first book that I had to get the second. I am very glad I did. This book was just as amazing as the first. I am completely in love with the characters and have read this book (and the series) many times already.

Wow!
I am officially in love with this series!!! If you like paranormal romance with a twist of erotica, then this is the series for you. Short Summary - take a bunch of queens with a lot of attitude and power and then ask them to get along. Not to mention that they have beautiful men at their becking call who can be both strong and soft at the same time. Of all the men in Mona Lisa's life, I still hope that she ends up with Amber being her one and only love but I know that's not going to happen. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep reading to find out what happens next.

Don't recommend
Dragged myself through the first book hoping the second would be better. It's not. Couldn't even finish this one. Again with the multiple lovers and the plot seemed to be all over the place. Drove me crazy!

Amazing!
I read the first book, Mona Lisa Awakening and I was hooked. This book is just as good. Sad at the end, but the next books make up for it. They are all great!!

Sunny did it again!!!
Mona Lisa is given a territory to rule by the Monere. The Monere are children of the moon. The territory she's been awarded is New Orleans. So she's queen over her territory, even though she's a mixed blood, the child of a human man and Mona Sera, her cold and uncaring Monere queen mother. As she is getting use to her new territory she is also trying to learn a new skill of healing. This book is just as adventurous, pleasuring, inviting, and sexy as her first book. The end is very sad but it also has a good part to it as well. Once again Sunny kicks it up again in HIGH DRIVE in book number 2.

not as great as the first one
Most readers would think that the title suggests that Mona Lisa is coming into her powers, which does happen, but it is not the central focus of the story. This is an erotica title, which explains why 1/3 of the book contains sex. It's irksome that Mona Lisa Blossoming is so much like the Merry Gentry series where in both cases the guards serve out of love for their queen/princess as opposed to other guards serving their queens out of fear. However, the similarities might appeal to other readers. Overall, it's an entertaining read even if it's not original.
