I purchased three guidebooks for a trip to Peru and this was the one I ended up using least - it does not live up to Moon's usual standards. Despite the 2011 copyright, a number of things were out of date (oddly, the Frommers guide, dated 2010, seemed to get things right). Many of the maps do not contain sites or other information presented in the text. Overall, one is left with the notion that the author relied too much on limited information or limited experiences -- some lodging/restaurants are under reported while others are over reported. Finally, some of the writing is just lazy. A guanabana, for instance, is described as an "indescribably delicious jungle fruit."Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
