    The first three are better

Not my favorite in the series so far, it's a bit slow...but I still love these characters and will continue reading!

    I Also Recommend:

This series is a good one.

The Mary Russell series of books have never disappointed. The characterization of Holmes stays true to the original, and Mary Russell, although maybe not totally believable (can anyone really be that smart, rich, AND athletic?) is a great role model for any teen girl (or woman). She refuses to be put second; she defends her right to a separate, and decidedly equal, life. The Moor is also full of great atmospheric elements. The Moor is as much a character in the book as the people are ("The Moor" refers to a place, not a person - but is a character nonetheless). The references to other Sherlock Holmes stories are a bonus.
