I have loved the Club Esoteria books, but this one left a lot to be desired. It started out with a lot of possibilities, but a quarter of the way through the book, the empty holes in the story were really frustrating me. Everyone ignores Mimi at the club, except for a Dom that she sees maybe once a week, but miraculously at the end (spoiler alert) everything is fine. She waits for Chaz for 3 weeks in a row before he finally shows up (no contact at all during that time), they have a scene, people make fun of her, she leaves, without her Dom supporting her. Yet when he's in an accident, Gentry sends a text to her, and there is nothing in the story that Mimi and Chaz have a relationship outside the club, so why text her? Chaz has lots of issues, he's living with a female roommate, he hasn't had a serious relation since he "left" his wife (did they divorce?), so many questions, but no answers, no explanations. Mimi is a complete doormat, I found nothing redeeming in any of the characters. Even the token appearances of some of the other club members don't help. Mimi's treated like garbage at the club, used as a sex toy by one Dom every once in a while, yet Taurus won't let her quit until she talks to her Dom... please! Too many holes in the characters, it was as if Cooper's editor told her she had a week to get the book out, and then demanded it on day 6, so everything was quickly wrapped up with a happy ending. The books in the series are getting shorter and shorter, and sorry, $4.99 for 83 pages (actual story is 71 pages) just isn't worth it to me. My request to the author, please don't just call it in, please go back to the well developed characters that you started with.
