    Superb - Amazing

Just as another reviewer wrote,I too am in awe of this album for its musicianship. As a bassist, you can rarely ask to be more challenged to play the part on this. But I love this album anyway for its aural intrigue. The album offers anger, laughter, mystery, and plain old bafflement, all the while wowing you with unpredicatble twists and turns in rich tapestries of layered sound. I would recommend it to classical lovers looking for a challenge to metal lovers looking for change - it opened both worlds of doors for me. Amazing.

    Stepping Stones

There have been many bands today who have been hailed by their fans as being original. When in fact they owe it all to Mr. Bungle, who have been around for nearly 20 years combineding the uncombindable with stage persona to match. Patton's lyrics on 'Slowly Growing Deaf', regarding Beethoven, is cleverly aggranged to insult an unaware audience. With stunning bass lines and heavy-metal circus, Mr. Bungle's self-title is a stepping stone for all music. From classical music to crude tunes that could play behind in an adult film. It's got it all.

Mr. Bungle is not for you... probably.

You gotta be a strange person to appreciate the musical talent that is inherent in mr. bungles 1st "big" album. I personally think its their best, but not because im a strange "stylish freak" but because im a musician. Pattons vocals are far far beyond anything youll hear coming out today. Yes, the music is a little odd, but it has everything. I could never ask for anything more in 1 album. Its talent, its comedy, its tragedy. 1 of the best experimental albums ever in my opinion. I highly recommend it!

    An excellent cd

I thought this album was well thought up and meticulously written and produced. Lyrics, music everything. Mike Patton is a musical genius and has one of the most versatile voices in rock. This album touches everything rap, funk, heavy metal, punk, and a smidgent of r&b. The most interesting songs I found on here were ''Egg'', ''Carousel'',''Egg'' and of course the degenerate but hilarous ''Girls of Porn''
