    This book was GREAT!

This book was the best historical fiction book I've ever read. It had a lot of action. The setting is during the Civil War. It was about a kid who joined Mr. Lincoln's Union Army. He was only eleven. His name was Willie Johnston. He was the drummer in Mr. Lincoln's Union. He had to beat a signal with his drum, maybe to tell the others to come back to camp. He was also awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. I would recommend this book for people who love war books.

    Good Historical Action Book

Mr. Lincoln's Drummer is an action packed story about an eleven-year-old boy who is enlisted into the Union Army during the Civil War as a drummer. Along the way we learn about army camp life, and the hardships that he faces along his journey. After his bravery in a battle, Willie(the boy) is awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and gets to meet President Lincoln. This is a good book, because it is based on a true story, and is historically accurate.

    For Drummers

I myself as a drummer really apealed to this book. Im only 13 and my English teacher made us all read historical books so i chose this one. Its a really good book and i think more kids should read it.
