His Times Were Ours
As a teenager I watched almost every Ali fight. Those were the days when you didn't have to pay to see a fight. It would be broadcast live on network television or you could catch it on 'Wide World of Sports' the following weekend. This book brings back a lot of memories, not only about the fights but about the social issues of the 60's and 70's. Most importantly, without romanticising the man, it shows Ali as a man of wit and courage. Readable and inspiring (with some great photos),this book is a reminder of the days when boxing was exciting and the man who made it so.
