This is perhaps one of my favorite books by Tracy Anne Warren.

This is perhaps one of my favorite books by Tracy Anne Warren. In fact, I believe this was the first book that I have read from her and she has become one of my auto-buy authors ever since. I have probably read this book about 5 times and I just love it. It's like every time I read it, I get sucked into the romance between Rafe and Julianna.

The way Miss Warren weaves in romance, love and lust in the book is believable in a sense that as a reader, you would think that this kind of situation would really happen in reality. I love how both characters grow in this story - most especially Julianna. She starts off as a very proper, sort of insecure widow and becomes this independent and strong woman. Although there is still a bit of damsel in distress in her, it is not as pronounced as other heroines I have read. Her ultimate devastation when Rafe leaves her is typically a reaction and again very believable. I can feel her anguish and to be honest, I always shed a tear when I get to this part no matter how many times I read it.

When they are forced to marry, I love how Miss Warren wrote in Julianna's initial reaction. Julianna tries to show indifference to Rafe. Of course, she still loves him but she does show how hurt she is from what he did.

I also love the hero, Rafe. Personally, I love reading about "rags to riches" heroes and Rafe is one of them. Rafe is also mentioned in other books (and I think other series) as one of the financiers that the gentlemen trust and use. He starts of an uncaring, self-centered rogue. Later in the story, you see him develop into a hero worthy of Julianna's love. I love how Ms. Warren wrote in his back story, how we the readers are slowly introduced to why Rafe is as uncaring as he is and we get to understand the reason why he left Julianna.

All in all this is a very enjoyable read that I love to read again (and I have been re-reading it). Perhaps when I have a chance, I would get a print copy of this book and perhaps have it signed by Miss Warren.

    STEAMY!!! Oh, my.

When Julianna Hawthorne Hears that her brother has mortgaged his home and lands to a moneylender named The Dragon she knows she needs to fix things but she doesn't have the ten thousand pounds he owes. Yet, being the dutiful big sister she is Julianna visits this Dragon to see if she can possibly fix his mess.

Rafe Pendragon, better known as Dragon, is astonished when the beauty walks though his door to bargain with him. Rafe had no idea that their were sisters who would do something like this with no recompense for themselves. Yet, he can't possibly give in - the Dragon is not compassionate. So he agrees to forfeit the debt in return for Julianna becoming his mistress for six months - something no lady would agree to.

However, Rafe misjudged his opponent and is now trapped in his own deal.

    A reviewer

Ms. Warren is a writer who know's what you want from a a great romance novel. I've read all her books to date and love everyone of them. I've even reread them several times. Her characters and storylines keep you going through the whole book. No let downs! Ever!

This is a terrific Regency romance

In 1812 London Lord Harry Hawthorne confesses to his widow sister Julianna that he has made a mess of their lives he gambled and lost a fortune and admits he has nothing for their younger sister Maris¿ coming out gala. Instead he owes ruthless financier Rafe ¿Dragon¿ Pendragon a ton of money that is due.------------ Julianna visits the Dragon in his lair to persuade him to give them more time. Rafe counters with an offer of the debt paid in full by her being his willing mistress for six months. He expects the prim and proper lady to be outraged, faking a swoon, and walking out angrily instead she accepts his daring terms to his shock. Both are quickly stunned by the passion of their lovemaking as neither has felt like this before. As each realizes without telling the other that they are in love, his enemy plots to use her to destroy him.-------------- Although the underlying theme has been used a zillion times especially in the Regency sub-genre, Tracy Anne Warren displays her talent by making it so fresh that MY FAIR MISTRESS seems like the first novel to employ a rogue using a debt to buy a mistress. The story line is fast-paced and smoothly converts from an illicit love affair into a caring love affair and finally into protecting one¿s beloved at risk to one¿s self. This is a terrific Regency romance with two ¿Mistress¿ tales to follow.------ Harriet Klausner

My Fair Mistress is my favorite!

Wow! What a WONDERFUL book. It totally deserves the Romantic Times¿s Top Pick 4 ½ stars review it received recently! I was lucky enough to get the chance to read an advance copy and couldn¿t put it down! The story is filled with love, romance and adventure and immediately draws the reader in with a sexy hero, an admirably independent heroine and a really rotten villain. Romance books don¿t get any better than this. I am definitely looking forward to the next two books in Ms. Warren¿s new Mistress trilogy! She gets better all the time!!!!!
