Brought not for the Grandchildren but the Grandmother...
I loved this book.. I am a Mum to four kids of differing ages and yet brought this story not for them but their Nana. You see just like in the Story their Nana always has something different to say than I do. I loved the color and that everything was so interactive. Every time we read it we find something new in the bag of tricks and it is so like their own Nana's full of lots of exciting things. I would recommend this book for any age. My children all enjoyed it even the oldest who is 11... But I think my Mum their Nana and I enjoyed it the most.. It is so typical of the basic Mother - Grandmother relationship. So would recommend the read.

Adorable Gift for new Grandmas or Grandmas to be
I have purchased this book time and time again for my friends who are expecting their first grandchild or have just had their first. It has so many fun things to do. It is always a hit with the kids and grandma.

Great Gift -
I purchased this for my grand daughter 1 1/2 and she loves it. Fantastic learning and entertainment during those difficult hours - just prior to dinner - it keeps her entertained while Mommy prepares her meal. I have purchased two of the others for Xmas gifts because of the success of this special book. Also, very good for entertaining them while in the car, plane. Enjoy!!!!

Naughty Granny
Grandmothers who buy this book for their own children's children are simply demonstrating their own lack of parenting ability. I think this book body-slams Mom every chance it gets! It also encourages children in the formative years to just ignore Mom and go with that fun-loving granny, no matter how important Mom's advice is to her growing daughter. Any good granny should know, (except for the narcissistic ones who will purchase this book) that supporting Mom and backing her up is more important than being hip and wild. All grannies who think about purchasing this book should step back about forty years and put themselves in the place of Mom, and then place the book in the hands of her own mother-in-law giving it to her daughter! Mother-in-laws beware...if you don't want to enrage your daughter-in-law, choose another book! It's a shame because the idea is cute, but the delivery is point after point of parent bashing.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!
For Mother's Day I bought my Mom a whole bunch of Grandma themed children's books, and I have to say this one is our favorite. My daughter was only 8 months old at the time, but she had a great time sitting on Grandma's lap and chewing on the different items in the book, especially the glasses and the shoelaces. She is now 10 months old and doesn't chew her books so much, and her and Grandma frequently pull out this one to play with all of the fun things in it. This is one of the most cleaver books I have ever seen. I am going to purchase Grandpa's Briefcase for my 3 year old nephew in California, who spends a lot of time with his grandfather. I know they will love it as much as we love this one.

What a slam on moms!!
This book, while cute, is a slam on mom's every where. It portrays this kid's mom as a nag with grandma undermining everything that she says and does. Mom is no fun because she sets down rules, but who will they blame when the kid is out of control??

absolutely a treasure
i purchased this for my 2 year old grand daughter. although she might be a bit young to completly handle all of the treasures in this charming purse, she still adores it. the money is well spent. i even enjoy looking through it and have added a few treasures of my own for my little love to find one day.

What a find!
It took a while to get through the check out to even purchase this book. The cashier and the lady standing nearby had to look through it with me as we laughed at Granny's wit and her stuff on each page. My five-year-old son, ten-year-old daughter, and 43 year-old sister have enjoyed it over and over with me. I am looking forward to using this book with my students. It elicits wonderful language samples. I would like to know if P. Hanson has any more books like this in the works.
