It made me love racing more
For the horse enthusiast just getting into racing, or for those who appreciate an author who can take words and generate pictures and emotion, this book is a winner, wire to wire. Mooney writes about her love affair with that mythical and magical creature, the thoroughbred, and her grandmothers extraordinary life with said horses. Mooney writes in a down to earth style, sometimes spouting facts and figures, making us laugh or gasp, and she switches effortlessly to from prose to poetic descriptions of the sport and animal she loves best. Not to be missed, My Racing Heart is an honest, sometimes brutal, but always beautiful look at a sport that is always passionate - from the farm to the wire.

Inside Thoroughbred Racing at its most Interesting.
Nan Mooney writes from the heart and brings to the reader some of the fascinating icons of Thoroughbred racing.
