Kirk Douglas Sings!
The All Music Guide review that accompanies this CD on B&N's website is right on. I just have a couple things to add. If two of the reasons you're interested in buying this CD is the opportunity to finally have Rawhide and The Rebel-Johnny Yuma in your collection, you will only be 50% satisfied. Frankie Laine's version of Rawhide is here and sounds just great. But Johnny Cash's The Rebel is some tune and some words I have never heard before. It's a real disappointment. I repeat: The Rebel-Johnny Yuma song we are all familiar with is not the one they offer on this CD. It has totally different music and lyrics. Other than that one complaint, I was satisfied with the CD. It's quirky, it's corny, it's kitsch- but I am of an age now (47) where I no longer have to care about what's cool and hip. Just sit back with a smile and listen to Lorne Greene sing Bonanza. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
