PATTERSON REMOVES STENCH OF "ZOO" WITH GREAT READ!

Alex Cross and Mike Bennett meet Detectives Zach Jordan and his new partner and ex girlfriend Kylie MacDonald. With The Women's Murder Club series Patterson has four of the best cop series published; at least I hope NYPD Red becomes a series.

NYPD Red is an elite task force created to guard over high risk celebrity and political events in New York City post 911. During the yearly film industry's Hollywood on the Hudson event that pitches New York City as a great place to film movies, things begin to happen that change the tone of the events. A famous producer is murdered followed by several escalating scenes of horror that kill film industry giants as well as paparazzi and fans.

Personal connections to the events both help and hinder Zach and Kylie all along while they are figuring out how to take their relationship from personal to intensly professional and as personal as two partners entrusted with each others lives need to be. With an interestingly drawn bad guy coupled with dark humor enjoyed by cops this book is a great read. Very fast paced with the story moving forward page to page and the reader comes to the end of it thinking, "THIS WOULD BE A HECK OF A MOVIE! SOMEONE WITH SOME "Die Hard" JUICE IN THEIR VEINS GREENLIGHT THIS BOOK TO MOVIE!!!

    Pretty good

A good read a bit more like a Nancy Drew mystery but was able to keep my attention. Flowed well, good for a easy read.

Okay, If You're Not Too Demanding

Okay, If You're Not Too Demanding

This isn't a bad thriller. It's just not very good. A mentally unstable movie extra and director wannabe begins killing off Hollywood types who have arrived in New York City for a huge film festival. A special squad of NYPD makes every effort to stop him, which isn't easy, as he's both elusive and clever at disguises. On the job is Detective Zach Jordan who has just been paired up with an old colleague who is not only gorgeous, but with whom he still carries a torch. The rest of the book is even more formulaic, unfortunately. But if you've got nothing better to do and want a quick read, this is for you.

A good Filler read if your caught between books and looking for

A good Filler read if your caught between books and looking for a quick read--some suspensenand a typical Patterson build upto a cliff hangerthat you can for the most part, see coming. the only surprise is who the real hero turns out to be and it's not one of the central charac ters. Enjoy the rise !!!

    Not his usual

It took me a bet to get into this one. Worth it? Of course. Just not the level I am used to from Patterson.

    Fun, quick read

This would make a good action movie, or episode of a cheesy cop show.

It is very light, with no thinking required. That said, it was still fun, and would be good at the beach or to kill time on a flight.

    Not "Red" Hot

Not your typical James Patterson police thriller novel. Characters were not well developed and shallow - was okay but not his best.

This was a satisfying read but predictable, could have been written by a computer program.
