This is an interesting, well-written, futuristic Sci-fi. I was especially impressed by the author's world-building skills.

Also, how does this guy write women so well? As a woman I'm a little intimidated that this male author seems to comfortably slip so into the skin of the heroine. She remained believable throughout the whole book.
Furthermore, Mr. Preece constructed such an authentic world that I began to think it might be a frighteningly realistic possibility for our future. Impressive!

We've all heard of nano-technology but this tale takes it to a whole new level - one in which much of our humanity is lost. The heroine Julia is a cop plunged into a cat and mouse plot that kept me turning the pages until way past time to be asleep. Despite the technological setting it never became boring or too much. All of it was easily understood. It took me a few pages before the world sucked me in, but by then I was knee deep in an intriguing murder mystery that turns everything in the world upside down.
I particularly enjoyed the heroine's surprisingly creative solutions and clever escapes from danger.

    Well done Mr. Priest!
