A Welcomed Sequel to the "Poet."

I always thought the "Sparrow" was the sequel to the "Poet," probably the best book Michael Connelly has written to date but the "Narrows," brought a new demention and finality when it brings back one of the best 'flawed' charachters, (FBI Special Agent Rachel Walling), Connelly has thought up to date. Special Agent Walling is just the person you want to share a good Single Barrel Bourbon with anywhere on U.S. soil. The 'Narrows' does ask for a leap of faith in forensics discovery on the reader's part. A fun read, just the same. This time, Connelly brings in retired LAPD detective Harry Bosch and intersects him with Walling on the 'Poet's' case. Half way through, I just couldn't put it down. I almost wrecked my own marriage to finish this book. I L-O-V-E-T-H-I-S-G-U-Y. Connelly devotees will also love this book for closure on the "Poet."

Love Harry Bosch, but not this one

I love Michael Connelly's writing and Harry Bosch. I did not like this particular novel that much, though. It was slow getting started, and there was just not enough Harry to hold my attention at the beginning of the novel. Love "The Brass Verdict" with Mickey Haller and Harry together, but not the story of "The Narrows".

A little disappointing for a Harry Bosch - Rachel Walling story.

Connelly's stories are usually fast-moving with plenty of unexpected twists. His characters are richly developed if a bit too humanly flawed. I expected this sequel to "The Poet" ( a very good book ) to be even better. Unfortunately the story dragged until the last few chapters and by then I was anxious to "get on with the story." But even a not so wonderful Connelly book is better than most. Great for a rainy day read but unlikely to keep you up at night turning pages.

    so so

having recently read "the lincoln lawyer", this was a bit disappointing. the story moves along o.k., but i wouldn't say i was on the edge of my seat. also, the villian is a complete knock-off of hannibal lechter.

Not the best Harry Bosch book

This is not the best Harry Bosch book but, still a pretty good one. The 'Poet' has resurfaced and Harry Bosch gets involved in the investigation. I found that this one book has too many storylines and it lacks the usual excellence the other Bosch books have. Read it but don't expect too much
