Please read if you crochet according to U.S. standards!!!!!
Posted 6/23/2009: This is a great book; however, there is one very important item I must bring to your attention. There are several pages of basic crochet stitch diagrams and instructions near the back of the book which do not coincide with the basic crochet stitches I learned and which, I believe, are used in the United States. It is my opinion that Ms. Barrett's stitch instructions may be based on a U.K. standard and not a U.S. (United States) standard. As I explain what I mean, I will use "TB" to abbreviate Tina Barrett. Specifically: "TB" double crochet = U.S. single crochet; "TB" half treble = U.S. half double; "TB" treble = U.S. double crochet. Just trying to spare you the frustration I experienced before I figured out the problem.
